A Simple Plan of Salvation There
is nothing on earth quite as amazing as God's love for people. Even though everyone of us was born in sin (a sin inherited from Adam,
Romans 5:12), God reached out to us through Jesus Christ so the penalty of sin (death, Romans 6:23) would be paid for and so we might have life in Him (John 3:16). He loved us even while we were still sinners (Romans 5:8). But He loves us too much to leave us in that sinful condition. Christ's death on a Roman cross not
only paid the penalty for our sins, but also freed us from the power of sin (Romans 7:24-8:4). Christ enables us to live an abundant, full life (John 10:10), free from the stain and power of sin. You can be "born again" (John 3:3
) and experience new life in Christ. Here's how:1. Admit you're a sinner.
2. Repent of your sins.
Acts 3:19 "Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord..." (NIV) Repentance means turning 180 degrees and walking in the
opposite direction you are now. It's more than just being sorry. It involves a commitment to "turn to God."
3. Accept His forgiveness and allow Him to cleanse you from the inside out.
1John 1:9 "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness." (NIV)
4. Receive Him as your Lord and Savior and believe.
John 1:12 "Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God..." (NIV)

Scripture References Romans 5:12 "Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all men, because all sinned--" (NIV)Romans 6:23 "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." (NIV) John 3:16 "For
God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." (NIV) Romans 5:8 "But God demonstrates his
own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us." (NIV) Romans 7:24-8:4 "What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body of death?
Thanks be to God--through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, I myself in my mind am a slave to God's law, but in the sinful nature a slave to the law of sin. Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in
Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death. For what the law was powerless to do in that it was weakened by the sinful nature, God did by sending
his own Son in the likeness of sinful man to be a sin offering. And so he condemned sin in sinful man, in order that the righteous requirements of the law might be fully met in us, who do not live according to the
sinful nature but according to the Spirit." (NIV) John 10:10 "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the
full." (NIV) John 3:3 In reply Jesus declared, "I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again." (NIV) |
